If Elman were here today this is what he would say to us. "To Those I love" When I am gone just release me,let me go so I can move into my afterglow. You mustn't tie me down with your tears, let's be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess how much you gave me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it's time I travel alone. So grieve for me awhile,if grieve you must, then let your grief be comforted with trust. It's only for a while that we must part, so bless the memories within your hearts. And then, when you must come this way alone,I'll greet each one of you with a smile and a "Welcome Home" To my beloved jean, Florence, Scotty, Flossie and Roy.

To Tommy,
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time; it is hard to let go but remember your father is in a better place with all hurt and pain is gone. Refect on the good and happy times as you "Celebrate" your fathers
life. Prayers and Blessings, Mrs. Jane Pape (Eddie's Mom)

Jeannie there are no adequate words to express how I felt about Elman and feel about you. You both are very specail people and as I told Elman, God has a special place in heaven for you both. I can see Hal and him entertaining the angels with their unique humor right now. Thank uou for being such positive influences in my life. I will miss him.
Love, Connie

Jean,
What fond memories I have of Elman. We shared many good times on the Bairoko. I am really sorry he was unable to come to the Bairoko reunions so all could see him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love,
Bill Dunn

Elan and I served on the USS Bairoko, CVE 115, for about 3 years. We were both young, gullible and naive, but we made it! I enjoyed my Liberties with Elman on the West Coast and the Far East. He was never able to make it to our Reunions in recent years, due to his "devotion" to Scotty.
My heartfelt prayers to Jean and the family.
