Rev. Robert L. King, age 88 years, died December 1 at his residence in the Pitman Manor. Born in Camden, he was a 1942 graduate of Pitman High School and had lived most of his life in Pitman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II and was awarded a Bronze Star in the Battle of the Bulge. He was employed by Mobil Research and Development in Paulsboro from 1942 to 1983. He was a graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary in 1972 and was ordained in 1973 in the United Methodist Conference. Rev. King served as minister to the Deerfield United Methodist Church, Auburn United Methodist Church, and Pitman United Methodist Church as the Visitation Minister. Predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Phyllis M. (nee McClain).
Survived by his children Rodger Lee (Ethel) King, and Randee L. (James) Scholz, 5 grandsons, and 5 great granddaughters.
