Obituary of Louise Higgins

Louise H. Higgins (nee Brooks), 91, of Pitman, NJ passed away peacefully from a stroke on March 5 surrounded by her family. She was a lifelong Pitman, NJ resident, Pitman High School graduate and accomplished community leader. She was president of the Pitman Board of Education and held many leadership roles, including president, in the Pitman Women's Club. She loved her family unconditionally, especially her three grandchildren and one great grandson. She kept the family together for more than 25 years after her husband, John (Jiggs), died. She was a big Phillies and Eagles fan, and loved playing bridge. She loved to travel internationally and loved beach time in Ocean City, NJ and family vacations in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Through her unfailing kindness she touched many lives and will be missed by everyone. Visitation will begin at 11 AM with services being held at 12 PM on Friday, March 15 at the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Sewell, NJ.
