Good bye dear friend.
You were 26 and I 19 when we met. You loved music and I played the piano...we bonded. You were fun, sweet, caring and full of sisterly advise. You went away to study in Poland but we found each other again when you returned Sometime around 1976 we lost touch again... this time for several decades. Sometime around 2015 I looked you up and found you. Of course you could not remember my voice but after a few hints boy! how we laughed! We tried catching up on a lifetime. I learned your parents (whom I knew) had passed on but that your siblings lived near by. We made plans to see each other but these were not to be. We enjoyed long talks. I learned from you as you shared wisdom, knowledge (you were so well read...). We talked of politics and you shared your views in your opinionated if stubborn ways. You spoke of the impact your parents experiences on Nazi camps had on your and your siblings life. We last spoke on March 13 your breathing already labored, you explained why I could not reach you around Christmas...
You have gone home now, my friend where you won't need to catch your breath again. The inherited trauma of your parents' experiences at the camps won't haunt you anymore...
Rest in peace my friend in the glorious presence of the Father. May you rejoice in reuniting with your parents.
