Chaplain Ray Fritz posted a condolence
Sunday, October 17, 2021
Dear Helen, family and friends of “Ray” Scaletti’s; on behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at Aurelio’s passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow “Bubblehead” leaves on Eternal Patrol. We are grateful for Aurelio’s distinguished service to our country in the U.S. Submarine Service. He served with honro aboard the USS Tusk SS-426, USS Hardhead SS-365, USS Patrick Henry SSBN-599, and the USS Canopus AS-34 (Submarine Tender). To our “Brother-of-the-Phin” we say, “Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Fair Winds and Following Seas.” Thank you for your service to our country.
Helen, … may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you. 2 Thessalonians 3:16
Aurelio A. SCALETTI, CWO3 US Navy Retired, now on Eternal Patrol.
Rev. Ray Fritz (EM1-SS), National Chaplain USSVI.

Ray was a good and honest man, a true follower of Christ. It was an honor to work with him at the Presbyterian Historical Society. His pride in his children and grandchildren was wonderful. Helen, may you and your family find peace in Christ's presence in your lives and in knowing that Ray is living in joy with his Creator.
Peace in Christ,
Beth Hessel

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing---2 Timothy 4:7-8
My Brother Ray, you have finished the race. It was an honor to know you and work with you at PHS. The Lord now has a worthy First mate at his side. Farewell my friend.

Being an black woman with a white husband in an all white church I tried to stay behind the scene so no one would notice. But being God's true servants Helen & Ray honed in on us. They were so welcoming. The more I got to know Ray the more he harassed me like I belonged to his family. I truly love him like he is part of MY family. Helen, Cyndy and the rest of the family I pray for your peace and comfort. God bless you all.

Ray and I always shared some old Navy Sea Stories. He will be deeply missed. Billy Graham always said he hopes to get a (Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant) when he enters the Gates of Heaven. Ray is certainly in the same place for all his service to his Lord.

A true friend! We were introduced to Ray & Helen several years ago and were drawn to their strong Christian faith. Our journey has been measured by amazing life mentoring through the Scaletti's. Ray was the first member to sign up with the PUMC (Small Group) known as "Our Master's Carpenters" and was a valued brother in our group. It was pleasure to work with him side by side. Ray spoke softly, yet when he spoke, everyone was drawn into his conversation and interesting stories. He was usually the first to arrive and the last to leave. Ray's perspective and contribution was always interesting and grounded in common sense. At Church
Ray was a fixture whether he was photographing a Baptism, Fellowship Hall social event or offering a quiet, positive commentary on events of the day. A true Friend.
We pray for you, knowing you are with our Father in Heaven, and we pray for Our Savior to provide comfort for your family and loved ones during time of grief.
