My dearest Ksthy,
I will be ever blessed to have had you in my life. I loved spending time with you whether it was riding bikes, taking walks after school, lunch and dinner with the girls, visiting Ksilyn at Alvetnia, or pumping our own gas. Everything we did was always so much fun! I loved laughing with you and am/was proud to call you my best friend. I will miss you dearly , but I know you will always be my special angel. I love you Kathy!!!

Memories of Kathy are memories of someone who was willing and able to take on anything, whose smile was ever-present, infectious and her signature, who found humor regardless. I remember so well how our families tracked one another, having been roommate with John for his first 2 years at Delaware. As soon as I met Kathy, I knew that this was the one for John. And I imagine that she's cracking up the angels, and probably creating thunder (and laughs) by bowling with the angels. Too young to be gone, but too good for we mere mortals, I suppose. Paula and I have a big hole in our hearts, but Kathy is a gift to our lives that lives one - in us, in her kids, in John and family, and in everyone (the hundreds+) she touched on this earth. We love you and always will, Katherine Anne Sooy.

Kathy has been a good friend ever since she moved to the neighborhood. The one thing my family will be forever grateful for was the time she came to help my 89 year old mother as she had to be rushed to the ER. I was unable to get home fast enough so she helped as the ambulance came for her. Kathy was always there whether you needed company, a shoulder to cry on, walking buddy, running buddy, or just moral support. Wenonah will miss you and Shawnee Drive will never be the same.

I was fortunate enough to be part of a wonderful group of four families that for many years have had "Sunday Night Diner" together. The Sooys, Bretts, Outens and Eastlacks have shared laughs, watched our children grow and mature, have enjoyed great food and the wonderful company of friends. John and Kathy's home was always so welcoming and filled with love, caring and friendship. We will all miss Kathy so very much - seeing her walk or run on our street with her girlfriends; getting in her car to drive off to work or do something for her children that she loved so much; talking to John while he was doing yard work; dressing silly for Dragon Boat races; or simply being a good neighbor and checking in on us. We will continue to remember her friendship, the memory of who she was and her joy for life that she shared with each of us.

I met Kathy at then Glassboro State College. She had a big heart and never seemed to back off from a challenge. She always thought of others, and was fiercely loyal to her friends and family. There is a hole that will never quite be filled left in her absence. She has gone ahead to Heaven and is waiting for us to catch up.

I have known Kathy almost 30 years-as long as I have known my husband. In fact she was originally his college friend. I use to call her my friend-in-law. We talked about everything-no topic was off limits. She called me her "secret keeper" and she was certainly mine. There is a huge hole in my heart. She was taken from us way to soon.

I remember when Mrs. Sooy drove us around in her car, either helping us get senior/director's gifts for fall play, or to take us to dinner after the show. She had such an amazing personality. I remember how proud she was of you, Kailyn, when she took our Thespian of the Year picture. That smile will never be wiped away from my mind. She was such a great woman and mother, so devoted to her kids. Thank you, Mrs. Sooy, for everything you did for your family, your community, Kailyn, and her friends. You will surely never be forgotten.

My memories, though long ago, go back to our school days. I was a friend of Kathy's from back then (as well as Ellen's). I remember Kathy being a very caring and loving person. May The Lord give the entire Mulholland family and Sooy family His peace. My prayers are with all of you. Peace, Jayne Hart Danco
