Frank L. Maatje, Jr., age 80 years of Pitman Manor, died Oct. 15 at Kennedy Health Systems in Wash. Twp., NJ. Born in Camden, he was originally from Erial and had lived in Lower Bank and Florida before returning to New Jersey. He was employed at Owens Corning Fiberglass, Barrington NJ for 28 years before retiring to Summerfield, FL in February 1987. He was a member of the Lower Bank Fire Company. An active Mason, he belonged to Laurel Lodge, Egg Harbor City #226 F&AM, and Bellview Florida Masonic Lodge #95 F&AM. Along with his wife they were members of the Rainmakers Camping Group of NJ.
Survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances K. (nee Casey), sons Frank L. (Janice) Maatje, III of Mullica Hill, Charles J. (Barbara), of Bass River, and daughter Donna Sampson of Summerfield, FL, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and his beloved dog, Mitzie.
Friends may call Thursday after 10AM in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Masonic Services 11AM, and Funeral Services 11:15AM.
