I grew up in TWP next to Dallas and Elizabeth Senior Dare and my memories are the same as Cheri and Dave's.....right down to the best Molasses Cookies in South Jersey. I always enjoyed Elizabeth's stories about taking produce to Camden with her dad.
I'm sure you must have a million happy, warm memories. Cherish every one of them.
By the way, my son, Pat, and David went to school together. It is a small world. I'm so thankful for that.

My childhood memories are full of Aunt Pearl and Uncle Lou. The main themes of those memories are love, comfort, laughter and of course cookies! I looked forward to ever visit with them and didn't want them to end - no matter what the reason for the visit. There was certainty in our routines - holidays were spent with Grammie/Pop-pop and Aunt Pearl/Uncle Lou. I long for those days. All my love to the entire family. I am so lucky to have the memories of such wonderful people.

It seems I’ve known Pearl and Lou all my life. I remember Pearl as Roz’s wonderful aunt, and then I became life-long (I hope!) friends with Mary Beth through Roz. And best of all, Pearl and Lou became my parents’ next-door neighbors when they moved to Pitman Mews. Lou and my Dad would sit outside and talk for hours, reminiscing about the war and sharing laughs together. Mom and Pearl would join them, and I was so happy to see what great friends they were.
I’m also grateful to Pearl for answering my occasional late-night phone calls when I couldn’t reach Mom and was convinced something terrible had happened. Pearl would knock on Mom’s door…only to find she’d left the phone off the hook!
I can’t help but feel sad when I think that now the Pitman Mews “gang” aren’t here anymore … it’s hard to accept that time just rolls on, whether we want it to or not. But thank goodness for the warm memories I’ll always have of Pearl, Lou, my parents (Tip and Ginny Pierce), Ethel Tweed, my aunt Frances Pierce, and the others of their wonderful generation who taught us Baby Boomers how to live. We’ll never see their like again, and I will always think of them with big, BIG love.

What great memories we have of family get togethers; molasses and chocolate chip cookies; laughter and jokes; warm hearts; kind thoughts for every one; humor about all sorts of everyday things; and such love for living. Aunt Pearl, how we will miss you and sharing our family day to day happenings. I wish it all could have gone on forever. We send our love to Mary Beth, Jeannie and Joey and your families in your loss. We grieve with you but also will remember what great fun we had and what great memories we have of times past with Uncle Lou and Aunt Pearl. We know that they are together and on their next journey in life and that they will be waiting for us when we start our next journey. We look forward to seeing them again. All our love, Cheri and John, David and Tracy and families.
