Jim was like a second father to me. We just hit it off from the moment I met him. I sure it had a lot to do with the Marine Corps connection. During VFW meetings or when we occasionally got together for breakfast or lunch, he always had me laughing with his stories about his experiences in the Marine Corps. He loved this country and the Marine Corps almost as much as he loved is black coffee. He will be missed but not forgotten.

Barb, He was always so happy when he came in to see me. You could tell he just loved life and you so much. I loved hearing all of his marine jokes. Sasha will miss him so much, but I know he is up there waiting for her so he can play with her again!

JIMMMMMMY!!! Even when I was having a bad day at work, just seeing Jimmy and Barb walk through the door would bring a smile to my face. The last words I heard him say were "Bunt the ball and run like hell." By far the nicest man I have ever known. The past three days every employee at Wawa would keep saying, "I haven't seen Jimmy or Barb yet!" Our day is not complete without a visit from them. Receiving the news today, was unimaginable. There is always a place in my heart and Wawa 301 for Jimmy! Barb, if you ever need anything or anyone, know that your Wawa family is always there for you. Jimmy, look over us. You were a great man and my favorite customer. Irreplaceable, and by far one of the funniest guys I knew.

When I first met Jimmy and we started talking baseball, he had me convinced for a good while that he was a Yankees fan. I was under such an assumption because Jimmy never let up on the Phillies and their woes on the field and off. Eventually, it became a daily routine for Jimmy and I to try to convince one another on how the Phillies season would play out. Today, April 14, 2013, the Phillies are exactly even at 9-9 on the season. In the past weeks, Jimmy kept repeating to me, "81-81 Nick, you'll see, 81-81." With the season now underway, Jimmy may end up being right come October. Jimmy and I bonded through baseball, he and my other co-workers bonded through other topics, even if it was just his genuinely kind personality and bubbly spirit. The daily routine of Jimmy and his wife Barb coming in to get coffee, a newspaper, and sometimes breakfast became a part of the day for every one of us at Wawa to look forward to. Jimmy brightened the room and put a smile on every person's face who had the lucky occurrence to be in the store during his visit. We all loved you and will miss you dearly Jimmy. I just hope that in the short amount of time you spent with us all each day we brightened your days almost as much as you illuminated ours. Rest in peace Jimmy, we love you.
