Obituary of Herman Frank Strater

Herman Frank Strater, age 84 died on November 29, 2010. Raised in Westville, he lived in Pitman for the past 20 years. Herman served in the US Army during World War II in the European Theater. He worked as a Journey Pressman for the Philadelphia Inquirer and retired in 1991. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church and the Catholic Golden Age. Herman was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by his family. He was predeceased by his first wife Virginia (nee Davis). He is survived by his wife Patricia N. (nee Donovan), daughters Leona (Patrick) Damminger of Palm Coast, FL, Sandra (James) Wicker of Salinville, OH, stepsons James (Kathryn) Naphy of Cinnaminson, Edward (Nancy) Naphy of Pitman, Major Andrew Naphy (Corina) of Fort Bragg, NC, 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Friends may call on Thursday after 10am in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 161 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Memorial mass will be at 11am. Interment will be at 2pm in Gloucester County Veteran's Cemetery.
