Skip was our neighbor for 31 years and he was as visible in our little Pitman neighborhood driveway as our own father - always working on his cars - the Dodge Ram Van and his favorite - his El Camino, with the unique octagon-shaped steering wheel. He was a hell of a mechanic and helped all of us with our cars at one time or another. He loved his wife, Caryle, kids Carmen, Steve, Nick whom me and my sister went to school with, his grandchildren, his birds, and his dog, Amber. He also liked his rock-n-roll music and always had a minute or two to converse with his neighbors.
Sometimes our talks were just plain old bitching sessions, but we will all miss them. When my father died, Skip took me over to the funeral home to take my fathers suit to prepare him for viewing and he checked in on us as my mother was very sick. He watched out for us, kept an eye on our property. I want to thank Skip, as we knew him, for what he gave to all of us in America. He served his country during the Vietnam War and only other Vietnam Veterans could possibly comprehend how difficult that must have been. Thank you again Skip. I pray that after your rest, that you happily hop, "skip" and jump with my parents in the promise land. God Bless you and your loved ones you have left behind. Rest in Peace, dear neighbor ^j^
