Please accept my deepest sympathies on Howard's loss. Regretfully I was not able to attend the services due to work issues, but was represented by the other Busy Bees. Howard rejoined the Busy Bees when I first joined almost 3 years ago and we became good dancing buddies, and later welcomed me to the RUM family. He was truly a dear, caring, sweet man and all who knew him are mourning his loss. I am praying that your family find the strength to go on and know that he will always be with you.

My memories of Howard begin when I was a small child, grandaughter of Alice Gruber Randolph, at the annual Gruber family reunions. My parents, Dot and Jim Fitzpatrick, were very fond of both Howard and Miriam. It was always obvious that Howard had a strong Christian heart and a strong love for his family. I am sorry that I am unable to attend the services and to pray with the family. May God give you all strength and courage.
Blessing on you all,
Dorothy Fitzpatrick (Dottie)

Howard came into my life when he married my Aunt Alice. I'll never forget the joy she shared with me when she announced she was going to marry this wonderful man - whom she had known for years as a friend, and then who became someone she fell in love with. Who knew that you could find true love at 60! He was the best thing that happened to her and she loved him with all her heart. They enjoyed a rich life together. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren so much - every time I spoke with him on the phone he updated me on their progress. I had the privilege of praying for each of them when they went through difficult times. Howard, even though he already had a family, made room in his heart and life for me and my family. I was the "adopted" new niece, and knew without a doubt that he love me. Even after Aunt Alice's death, I felt connected to Howard. We stayed in touch and he even made it to my younger son's wedding in Eastern Pennsylvania. Howard was a sweet, caring person who put others' needs before his own. He would do anything for anyone. I shall miss his signature sign-off on the phone whenever we talked: "right-o". And I shall miss his reminding me that he loved me. Howard, I'll miss our phone chats and occassional visits, but know that I'll see you again in Heaven. I love you.
