It was with great sorrow I learned of Miss Esby death. During my years at Moorestown High, Ms. Esby was a great coach, mentor and friend to me.
She coached three members of my family and we all have such fond memories of her. Besides coaching me in Field Hockey and Lacrosse, Esby chaperoned many Ski Club trip. She gave me tips on skiing and howled with laughter when I wiped out or fell flat on my face. Always encouraging me to get up and try again. She was also my Drivers Ed teacher and was so encouraging when I drove through the my first crazy NJ circle. Yikes.
One of the things that I remember most about Esby was her sense of style. She was always decked out for games..with a beautiful dresses, shoes and matching hat. I loved that she was different from most coaches and had the courage to do things her way.
Esby was so patient with the manic/hormonal energy of high school girls. Being a teacher is a most honored profession, indeed.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Ms. Esby family and son. She was a very special lady.
Much love,
Mary Allen

Miss Esby was a wonderfully effective Coach and Phys. Ed. teacher. She had the talent to challenge student athletes to be their best and make it fun at the same time.

My sincerest condolences for your loss. Coach Esby (as she was affectionately known) served as the Head Coach of the Girls Lacrosse and Field Hockey teams at Moorestown High School for many years. She was responsible for leading championship teams there to numerous regional and state titles. She was a major inspiration in the lives of many young female athletes. She will be greatly missed!
