When the last tear falls,
And dries on the cheek of the last mourner
And the final requiem is over-
When the last words are said
Of the sorrows, hopes, and broken dreams,And the blur of tears has left our eyes-
When our minds are finally cleared
And the last clouds of anguish purged from out hearts,We will see that they are not dead and they can never be dead.
For as long as one man remains, No one can ever die.

Ever since I was a toddler, I spent much of my time with my first and closest friend, Michael Milward. As we grew up together, Big Mike (Mike Moffa), entered into Mikey's family when we were still in grade school. Never once did I felt discomfort around Big Mike. He never hesitated to crack a joke, and he always supported Mikey throughout all his endeavors. With open arms, Mike embraced the role of a father-figure. I know Mikey developed a special bond with Mike, and to be able to see my best friend live happily after the adversity he has faced because of Mike's ability to help provide for his two step-children, his lovely wife, and the big ol' chocolate lab, Hershey, is exalting. I lament Mike's passing, for I know Michael, David, Cindy and the entire Moffa family will fervently miss such an entertaining, supportive, humble human being. I hope that both families will be resilient from their loss, for we all know Mike will rest in peace. Thanks for the memories Mike. You were a great man.

I got to know Mike a few years ago through young Mikey’s Baseball. A little later I got to know him much better as an electrician. Mike was indeed among the most talented tradesman I have ever come across. He was competent, multi-talented and also a very intelligent person. During the all too brief time I knew Mike we had some interesting and stimulating conversations. The last I talked with him a few weeks ago at a ballgame he was looking forward, with anxiety, to taking his licensed electrician test. I know he would have passed. He worked so hard. He knew what he was doing and professionally he deserved to be at the highest level. We talked at the game about his stopping by to help hook up a heater and then having a few beers. I was looking forward to that and I will keep that memory. I can’t believe Mike is gone and somehow I just want to keep waiting for him to show up. Mike was a very good person and a friend to me. Mike – when I see you on the other side we’ll sit down and have those beers. Until then - you’ll sure be missed. Jim Butch

I have a photo of Mike holding my daughter when she was only a couple of days old. After she fell asleep he painted a happy face on her diaper with nail polish.
He was such a nice guy. My heartfelt prayers are with your family at this time.
