Dear Lee and family,
I remember each conversation with Les as a magical moment and a turning point in my life. His words were always encouraging and empowered me to stretch beyond my limits. I feel grateful for his generous sharing and guidance and wish you and your family well during this time of your life.
Love,
Steve

"I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I love. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me; it is a sort of splendid torch which I've got a hold of for the moment and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations." -- George Bernard Shaw
Above... an apt description of how Les engaged with life... Lee too. I think he had forgiven me my youth and indescretion. That is how I hold it. And in that understanding love remains, teaches, and inspires. God is not small. God is great. God is real and not a myth.
Les... You carried a splendid torch. Held it high. Passed it on burning bright. Lee... bless you... You were his inspiration.
Love,
Mark

I just read about Les' life here. I LOVE that he is known as a singer. I had the fun & honor of teaching Les 2 voice lessons in the spring of 2003. With all good intentions, we planned to continue working, & have him serenading like a pop star at all of the wonderful parties & events he is known for. We never made it to lesson #3, but Les still loved to introduce me to friends as his vocal coach. I think that Les was the real coach here...his example of living life to the fullest taught me more than any 'la la la' I could ever show him. I will continue to honor his legacy and his life and reach for the stars.

I am Les's cousin, Susan Blakeslee. I'm sorry to hear of Les's passing. I remember the fun times we had when I was young when we had the family reunions at his mom's and dad's house, my aunt and uncle. The last time I saw Les was at a family funeral, unfortunately and spoke with him briefly.I did not know him very well as an adult but I wish I had he seemed like a very genuine person.
