I light this candle for Meemaw knowing she is at peace. She knows she has given me the tools to weather this storm. My heart is broken due to losing her but I know she is in a better place. I thank all of my family and friends for seeing me through this turmoil. Your talking and sharing memories has helped to look beyond the physical loss and look to the spiritual future. I know she will be with me always. She will nudge me along as we raise funds for the Alzheimer's Association each year. She will stand beside me laughing as the Atlantic Ocean washes over my feet, she will guide my hand in my effort to give back to those who have given so much to us. Love, Janet

My Aunt Irene was a kind, funny lady and I will miss her and her humor very much. She always doted on my children whenever I brought them to visit, and you could see a sparkle in her eyes whenever she talked to them. I pray that her sole has peace and clarity now, and that she is in heaven with my mommom (her sister) and Uncle Andy where she will find comfort. She will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

Irene and her husband Andy were wonderful, generous people. They both were wonderful friends to my Grandmother, who has passed on. They were also very kind and generous to us and our children. I always think of Irene and Andy everytime I go to Boothwynn Farmers Market. Jon and I could always count on them stopping by when they went and would bring peanuts and goodies from the bakery there. Heaven now has another very special angel.

Aunt Irene was a very special aunt/person. She always had a smile for us and was there for us. Growing up on Main Street, we had a mom at both ends of the street. As adults, when we visited each other, it was such a treat because we knew we would have a few laughs. That's how she was. She will be very much missed and will forever be in my thoughts, right along with my mom, her sister.

My Aunt Irene was always a giving and caring person. She was always there for my mother, her sister, Gladys Mitchell. Her house was the house were we parked our bikes when we rode up to swim at the River View Beach Park pool. Her house was the house where my mom stopped for coffee when the walk from the bus on Broadway to our house at the end of Main Street was too long. She was kind to us in many ways that I remember as a child and as an adult. I'm sure she was kind to our family in ways I don't even know. She always treated us as though we were her own children -- be careful, button your coat, watch your smart mouth. She had a wonderful sense of humor and I will miss her very much.
