Pop Pop -
May you be at peace.
May you rest, with a clear mind and allow the light to surround you.
May your soul open to truth,to love. May you feel the ascension.
Let go of daily chaos, the renewal is yours.
May your light awake each morning elevated and recharged.

As his favorite (and only) Son-in-Law, I knew it would be tough to blend in to the Folkman Family with such a class act to follow. Pop's caring and giving of self seems to stand out most. It seems that everyone he met left with a feeling that Pop genuinely cared about them. What's even more astonishing is that his caring persona was enduring;everlasting. I will miss laughing with him about some of my social shortcomings, fishing in Maine, and sitting at the breakfast table watching our feathered friends from our ringside seats.
I loved him.
Joanne loved him.
My children loved him.
It is obvious that God loved him.
And now, God has him.
You can rest now, Pop, You deserve it.

Every time I think of Uncle Bob, I see his smiling face and hear the laughter in his voice. I have the most wonderful memeories of him. The ache in my heart is so heavy for our family. You wonder if or when the pain will go away. I do know that time eventually heals the pain, but time can never erase the wonderful memories, memories of a lifetime, that are strong and powerful and ours to cherrish forever. He was such a great brother to my mom and I love that he cared so deeply about her. We Shute girls never had a brother, but if we had, I would have wanted him to be just like Uncle Bob. We are so blessed that he was part of our family. I will miss him, but I know that he is at peace and in God's hands now.

What a honor to have known such a wonderful and unique person. The first time I met Poppa he couldn't quite figure me out. At the time, which happened to be the 70's, I was sporting a very long hair style and wore an assortment of rings on every finger. I would catch Poppa giving me the "once over" more that once or twice.
The attention to detail that Poppa would give to any project he was involved in impacted me in such a way that I credit him and Bob, Jr. for my desire to do the same.
The Folkman family has enveloped me in their lives in a profesional and personal way that the bond we've created will never be broken.
I have the utmost respect for the gentleman that Poppa was.
Byron McDonald
As Byron's wife, I cannot express the love I see between the Folkman family and ours. Poppa and Nancy welcomed me with open arms. It's just the way they are! I'm so glad that I got to know Poppa and spend a little time with him. He always made me laugh and he had the best looking legs on any man I've ever seen!

From infancy to adult he was always there for me and my sisters Pat, Jay and Deb and most times felt like our second dad. I have never met a more loving and kind man who truely knew the meaning of family. I did dearly love him. He will always have a very special place in my heart. I'm so very proud to say he was my uncle.

This was a man that knew the meaning of kindness. All the memories and stories told of Uncle Bob support that. He will be sadly missed, but always fondly remembered with a smile on his face and love in his heart. I know my Nana sure did love her brother and my mom thought the world of her Uncle Bob. The recent photos sent along with Uncle Bob's secret for longer life were precious - a wonderful way to express the celebration of a life well lived. God Bless Aunt Nancy and all of the Folkman family -thank you for sharing Uncle Bob with all of us. With much love from the Texas "Dempsey" Bunch.

Dad was the "Cornerstone" of our family. He was a great husband. He was a great father. He was a great grandfather. He was a great son. He was a great brother. He was a great friend. Cornerstones stand the test of time on any building. Dad's will be the legacy of our family. We love you Pop, "without wax". Bob

Where do I begin to express the Love and admiration I have for my Grandfather. The respect for a skilled craftsman (the meticulous attention to detail). The shared love and frustration for the game of golf (not to mention the competition with "Mr. Fairway"). All the hot meals and conversations while I was at Clemson. But most of all, fighting the selfishness of wanting him to still be here, but knowing he is pain free in a much better place. I can see him now looking down at me from heaven on the 1st tee. I could never have asked for a better Grandfather.
