Obituary of John J. Chillari

John J. Chillari, Sr., age 89 years, of Avalon, NJ, formerly of Glassboro, NJ, died March 12, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, he had lived most of his life in Glassboro. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Navy on a mine sweeper in the Pacific Theatre. He retired from Owens Illinois in Glassboro as a machinist after 30 years employment, and then worked as a bus driver for the Glassboro School System. He was a member and past president of St. Anthony's Mutual Society, and Glassboro VFW Post #679. Predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Florence Pietrobono. Survived by his children, John J. Jr., Kathy (James) Hankins, and Carol Jester, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Also survived by his sister Mary Shaw, and brother Joseph Chillari. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30AM in the Church of St. Bridget, 125 Church St., Glassboro, NJ 08028. Funeral Mass at 10:30AM. Interment New St. Mary's Cemetery.
