Carmela Arico (nee Spano), 88 formerly of Glassboro, passed away on February 12, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Russell Arico. Carmela will always be remembered as a loving person who devoted her life to her family. Her love for her grandchildren and the Bazikos children was immeasurable. She loved to cook and hosted many family dinners and picnics.
She was a former member of St. Bridget's Church where she was a greeter and cooked numerous spaghetti dinners as fundraisers for the school. She also was a former member of St. Anthony's Ladies Auxiliary Society and the Altar and Rosary Society.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Mario, Anthony and Nicholas and her sister Rose Carrion. She is survived by her two sisters Antoinette Riccardi and Josephine Primiano, four children, Antoinette Higgerson, Marie Moore (Bob), Frank (Peggy), Russell (Rick Williams), six grandchildren, Melanie, Jonathan, Clifford, Jennifer, Gabriel, Olivia, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson, Noah.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation at the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 6-8pm and Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 9:30-10:30am. Funeral mass will be in St. Bridget's Church, 125 Church St, Glassboro at 11am on Saturday. Interment St. Bridget's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Arts and Crafts Department of Kennedy Health Care Center Long Term Care Facility, 535 Egg Harbor Rd, Sewell, NJ 08080.
