She was one of the nicest people I had met in Pitman during our school years. I know she is healed now and enjoying a new life of comfort. Rest in peace, Dawn.

Dawn was the very first friend I met when I moved to Pitman from PA. We were in 3rd grade and attended memorial school together. We used to roller skate in the street together and play hopscotch all the time. Her parents owned a restaurant down town and Dawn and I would go there after school and eat french fries. They had the best french fries there! Dawn was the kindest person I knew never talked badly about anyone and accepted everyone. In middle school we would always write notes back and forth to each other all day long and very rarely paid attention to our teachers -we were too busy writing to each other. I moved back to PA in February of my 11th grade year and Dawn through a "going away" party for me. My step mom didnt want to throw the party but Dawn told my step mom "We love Nancy and we want to show her our support so I want to throw her a party" Dawn made ALL of the food and brought everything to my house and friends stopped by to say good bye to me. Dawn didn't want me to leave Pitman without making sure I knew how much I was loved. It was amazing. Dawn and I stayed in touch via letters from that point forward even when I went into the Air Force. When I moved back to PA in 2008 we were able to see each other again. I really loved being geographically closer to her again. Dawn is the kindest person in this world. It is so devastating to lose her but I will see her again in heaven. She was so strong and fought cancer so hard and I am so proud of her!! I loved her like a sister and she always made sure that I knew she loved me the same. I miss you so much Dawn! "BFF" Love Always, Nancy

Words cannot express the sadness in my heart. Dawn lived her life with a wonderful spirit and zest. The strength and grace she showed through her illness has taught those around her a lifetime of lessons and ones I will not soon forget. Thank you for being an example of what it meant to be in the fight. Dawn will always be in my heart and her family and sweet Shelby will always be in my thoughts and prayers.
