Obituary of George Lester Brooks

George Lester Brooks, died August 23, 2014, surrounded by his family. Born in Bridgeton, NJ, he has lived in Pitman since 1962, moving to Bellmawr one year ago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War where he received a Bronze Star. He was an Iron Worker for Local 399 in Westville for over 44 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 133 Woodbury, the Glassboro VFW Post, and the Elks Lodge # 2708 Deptford. Predeceased by his wife Celia D. (nee Vaden). Survived by his children, Larry (Constance) Brooks, Debra (Frank) Brooks-Manall, Bryan (Carla) Brooks, granddaughter Sheila Brooks, and sister Jean Bonhan.
