Obituary of Marion A Burrowes

Please share a memory of Marion to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marion Annetta Burrowes (née Barron) of Collingswood, N.J. passed away on June 22, 2024 at 100 years of age. She was a much-loved resident of the United Methodist Communities at Pitman for the last 20 years of her life. After graduating from Collingswood High School, Marion received a B.S. degree in Home Economics from Drexel University. While at Drexel, Marion made two of the most important decisions of her life. One was to choose to ask Jesus Christ to be her Lord and Savior, believing the words of the Bible in John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." The second most important decision was to marry Wills Burrowes, the love of her life. Together she and Wills loved and served Jesus, teaching the Bible to children and young people for decades. She and Wills also loved singing together and sailing on Barnegat Bay. Marion was predeceased by Wills. Marion is survived by her sister Margaret Hill (Arthur) of Hockessin, Delaware; nieces Patricia Mosely (Stephen) of Glassboro, New Jersey and Nancy Breneman (John) of Wolf Creek, Montana; and 6 grandnieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may greet the family Thursday, from 6 to 7PM in the Brooklawn United Methodist Church, 213 Maude Ave., Brooklawn, NJ 08030. Memorial Services at 7PM. Interment Private in Harleigh Cemetery, Camden, NJ. Memorial gifts in memory of Marion may be sent to: the United Methodist Communities (Pitman 535 N. Oak Ave. Pitman, NJ 08071), Brooklawn United Methodist Church (213 Maude Ave. Brooklawn, NJ 08030), or King of Kings Community Church (5501 Lexington Ave. Pennsauken, NJ 08109).
