Susan W. Somers, age 82 years, passed away peacefully at her home on May 1, with her family by her side. Born in Bloomfield, NJ, Susan was raised in Verona graduating from Verona High in 1959. After high school, she moved to Pitman and attended and graduated from Glassboro State College with a degree in Education. She worked as a teacher at Ranch Hope for Boys, where she retired. In 2002, Susan married George Farley—the love of her life. She was a devoted member of the Church of the Good Shephard here in Pitman. Susan was known as one of the best party hostesses around, she had a famous 4th of July party that started with brunch and ended after dark. She could always be seen with an apron on, cooking, and making sure her guests were well fed. If wealth were measured by friendship, Susan was a truly wealthy person.
Survived by her husband, George Farley; her children, Robyn (Glenn) Hausmann, Jennifer Young, and Jonathan Young; Stepsons, John (Connie) Farley, Michael Farley, and Erick (Angelique) Farley; grandchildren Kyle (Elizabeth), Devon, Erin (David), Minnie, Sam, and Jessica; great grandchildren Ethan, Piper, Kona, Samantha, and Luke; and many nieces and nephews.
