I first met Jamie in 1994 when him and Karen were living along Iona lake across from the house they later moved to,he was then studying for his career in education,,I felt very welcome when we stayed with them, letting us use his little rowing boat to cross over the lake to pick up the newspaper, not long after our stay Jamie and Karen came over to the U.K,and we had a tour of North Wales in my tiny little van, Jamie found it hilarious how the broken white lines dividing the roads simply ended when they became too narrow, often the case in rural Wales! I visited them many more times when they lived in Pitman, Jamie worked the comedy club down the shore at weekends. I always thought he should have been on stage, not doing security, such a wicked sense of humour that man had,R.I.P. Jamie, your brother in law Dave.

I will always remember the memories I had with Mr. Ambacher as my fifth grade science teacher. He always knew how to entertain us while we learned about gravity and the solar system. Being relatively new student at PVS in 2005, Mr. Ambacher knew how to always make me feel welcome in his classroom. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Thank you for all the memories Mr. A.

Ron, Aidan, Desmond, and I were so lucky to have had Jamie as our neighbor and friend. We will all cherish the many memories and good times we had with him. Although we were sad when Jamie, Karen, and Emily left our street, we knew that Iona Lake had their hearts. Jamie was such a light in this world. Our deepest condolences to all of his family and friends. Jamie will be missed. -The Souders

Mr. A was my 5th grade science teacher at Harrison Twp. Elementary school. One of my favorite classes in 5th grade. I will always remember the red v.s blue bottle tornado races we had before class was over. And to this day I still sing the “ Little boxes on the hillside, little boxes made of ticky tacky” song. I will never forget the day the entire class missed their bus going home because a few students were being super disrespectful and until they listened none of the students were dismissed. Some of my fondest memories are from Me. A’s class and I will forever hold them on my heart. Rest in peace Mr. A, and to his family, I send my deepest condolences and prayers.

We are so grateful for the time we spent with our Uncle Jamie last summer on his Lake Iona. We treasure the day he took us to get the best peach ice cream and shared our enthusiasm on our first trip to Walmart! He was so funny and we feel so fortunate to have gotten to know him. With love, Georgia and Sammy

I am so sorry for your tremendous loss. Mr. A was truly the best teacher I have ever had. He made science fun but more importantly learning fun. Nearly 20 years later and I can still sing the song our class made up for him and recall countless memories and lessons in that room because it was such a vivid and free space to question and joke. Rest in peace Mr. A- my deepest sympathies to the family

I had Mr. A for 5th grade Science (~2001-2002). Although I only knew him a short time, he made a lasting impression on me. You could tell he loved what he did and he made it fun for all of us. He was one of those rare teachers that actually cared about his students. He will be missed. My sympathies go out his family.

One of Jamie’s dreams was to live on Iona Lake. That dream came true 3 years ago when he and Karen acquired one of the nicest properties on the lake. They worked around the clock to put the house together to their liking. Jamie never seemed to be a newcomer to the lake. He made friends in no time and had everyone’s admiration. Jamie could be seen at all times of the day rowing his boat across the lake. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for you. If there was a need, he would take care of it without asking. He will be sorely missed. Dan and Kathy

I’ll never forget my main man, Jamie!! I’m absolutely heartbroken, but I’ll be smiling every time I think of him. Our practical jokes were famous, but I could never outdo him. He was the king of keeping people laughing. They broke the mold after him. Keep the beer cold for me, Jame!!

I knew John from High School and just hanging out when we were young. Super nice person. I was then fortunate enough to have him teach my children in the Mullica Hill school system and they all loved him. I know he will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. My deepest sympathies to the family.

I had THE best N.Y. tour guide when I visited Jamie and Karen first time they lived on the lake (and Emily still a star in the sky). And I will cherish the special memories of September 22 when I visited them after they moved back there.
May the pain of loss be replaced by the comfort of lovely memories ❤️

I first met Jamie when my son Christopher started dating his lovely daughter Emily.
He was a very nice man and always treated my son as if he were part of their family.
He was a great conversationalist and very artistically talented.
I am grateful to have met him and his wonderful family.
He will be missed by many.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family through the days and months ahead. May they find strength and peace in the loving memories they hold dear to their heart.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Carla Gilcrest
