My sincerest condolences to Karen and the family. I used to work with Al at IGA. He was a great man. He always told me to strive for more. I’m forever grateful for his inspiration.

Aunt Karen, Albert, Jeff, Lori and family,
Uncle Al was an awesome guy, though dry humored like his siblings, and he will be greatly missed.
I will forever have a memory with him from going to get grandpop Al from the Pocono home and moving the furniture out. You see, when everything went down, a dog was left behind, and every trip into the master bedroom we would get a growl from him. After a bit I would call the dog's name and get a chuckle from Al and my dad. We finished up and left and I tied the dog to a tree out front of a family member's home, honked my horn and yelled one more time "BUDDDDYYYYYYY!" and that forever became a greeting between Uncle Al and me.
Going to miss you Buddy, and can't wait to hear you welcome me to Heaven with a hearty BUDDDDYYYY when you see me.

My sympathy to the entire Hickman family. Al always seemed to be a good sport One memory was a trip to the beach at the Outer Banks we all took together many years ago. Though we encountered some hiccups ( hottest week on record, climbing the double dunes to get to the beach, air conditioning breaking while I cooking our shrimp dinner) he remained committed to having a good time. Although we were warned he retired early, he surprised us all by staying up late several nights with us. My memories Most of all focus on his welcoming our Stephanie as part of the family when she married Jeff. I was always entertained by several sports exchange banters on Facebook (stalker) between them. May he continue to enjoy his Phillies from Heaven and watch over the family. He will never be gone, as long as his memory is kept alive by family and friends.

From your Brother Michael
Karen, I cannot imagine your feelings during this time, our prayers continue to go out to you and your family. The loss of someone we love is the one thing we dread in life, and the thoughts of us leaving our loved ones behind.
Know that my prayers along with Susan go out asking for comfort during this time.
To family, I cannot imagine what it will be like without your Father and Grandfather and knowing the day will come you will see him in Heaven.
Not good with words but know we care greatly and will continue to pray for everyone in this family and friends who will miss him.
