It breaks my heart to hear the passing of my godmother Joanne. She was so kind hearted to not only me but to my family and all her cousins, aunts, and uncles. Joanne created many special memories, especially when I was young taking me to Capital games and appreciating the game of hockey. Joanne would rent out a suite at one of the Capitals games for the entire Mirenda family to get together and enjoy each others company. My fondest memory though was when I was 10 yrs old and got to go down into the players locker room to meet the players and get autographs. This past week, spending time at the shore, Joanne wanted to make sure that we would be well fed and provided us with gift cards to Uncle Bill’s Pancake House. That is who Joanne was to all of us, always thinking about others choosing the perfect gift for each person and seeing the joy on everyone’s face. We will all miss her.
