John and I spent many years together at Clearview and Tall Pines Inn. The Tall Pines community has many, many stories to be told. John was the center of great times no matter the circumstance and was a great mentor to me as I began my work in the restaurant business. He always encouraged me to try something new and would bust my stones if I stepped out of line. He, Wayne Swanson, and I used to meet for breakfast often to keep in touch. He will be missed but is now with BethAnn in a better place.

Mr. Gambogi was my geometry teacher in 1982. Oh, how I dreaded that class! I could never figure out why I would need to know how to calculate angles and circumference as an adult, when all I ever wanted to do was go to law school. Fast forward a few years. I spent my career as an assistant prosecutor. Every time I discussed the trajectory of bullet or the angle of a punch, I thought of Mr. Gambogi and smiled. May his memory be a blessing to your family.
