Our deepest sympathy to all the family at this sad and most difficult time. Gene was a friend, a fun person to be with, a very interesting person full of lots of stories. We always enjoyed being in his company. He had a good life. He will be missed. Rest in peace, Gene.

Dear Gene,
I was deeply saddened to hear of your passing. It is with a heavy heart that I reflect on the tremendous impact you had on my life and career. You were not only my boss but also a mentor and guide, shaping my professional journey in ways I will forever be grateful for.
In 1990 at the opening of the Trump Taj Mahal I was a 20-something kid who thought he knew everything. I was lucky enough to be placed on your team. You were patient with me - and you took the time to teach me, and I benefitted immensely from your wisdom and experience.
Thank you, Gene, for everything you have done for me. May you rest in peace, knowing the profound impact you made on so many lives.
With deepest condolences,
Todd Moyer

When I finally got to meet Gene, it was immediately apparent that he was a very special person. He was an absolute joy to chat with and to learn about. He carried himself in such a gentlemanly way. But the thing that struck me most about him was his warmth. He was that rare type of person who just puts you right at ease and makes you want to be around them. I am so sorry for your loss and will always wish that I got to spend more time with my new Uncle. Much love to you all. <3 Jeanette

Becky, Breena, Shannon and I were very sorry to learn of Gene’s passing. His legacy as a member of the Camden 28 is one his children and grandchildren should cherish. The Vietnam War was one of the most painful episodes in American history. Gene had a strong religious conviction about the war and the courage to act on that conviction when it mattered most, in a divided country. There were many in the military at that time, myself included, who will be forever grateful and respectful of what he and the Camden 28 did.

Mary & Family,
My husband Michael & I are so sorry to hear of Gene’s passing. We knew him through St. Vincent’s Food Pantry Duty. What a dedicated hard worker he was! Such commitment! It was then He shared his stories of The Camden Trial protesting the draft. What an impressive stance he took…& won! Sticking to his beliefs. What a man!
Then I got to know him a bit better through our parish softball team years ago. Again he was a determined man! He played hard, always wanting to do his best, regardless if he’d get injured or not.
Then Mike & i would see Gene & Mary faithfully attending 9:30 Sunday Mass at Queen of Peace. Always in the same pew/seats. What a beautiful vision it was to see you both. Inspirational.
May you All be comforted by knowing that Gene has now entered Everlasting Life. We aspire to do the same. Peace.

I remember Gene with great fondness while working (playing?) with him doing plays for Rep 76 at then Gloucester County College so many years ago. He was, simply put, a gentleman and a GENTLE man. Funny, thoughtful, kind and caring….just a few words that come to my mind when thinking about Gene. He was a true “citizen” of the world, which was….and is….a much better place because of him. Rest in peace my friend….and keep laughing.
