My condolences to the McCleery family. Ryan was a year ahead of me in school, but he was the same age putting us on many little league teams together. We had a real special group of kids winning multiple district and sectional championships. We even made runs at a couple state titles all the way up to HS falling just short each time. Ryan/Rhino wether he was on the field or not was a very important piece to our team. He could play any position and fill in any role. His passion and intensity for the game was rare because the energy just poured out of him and it effected the team. Ryan was a great guy and will be missed.

When Ryan was a teenager I took him, my kids, my nephew and Brent maybe too, camping for a couple of days in back to back summers. First year we went to Cooperstown and the Baseball HOF. The next year it was north western PA and a trip to the Football HOF and the Rock and Roll HOF. After that one the kids wanted to see the Blair Witch Project. After the movie it was dark and we drove back to the campground. They were tough and brave after the movie until we got into the woods and the car lights went out. Took them awhile to fall asleep but it was that spooky fun that I’m sure they all still remember. Ryan always rode shotgun and kept me awake and entertained. He could have some meaningful and deep conversations. We even wrote an outline for a movie called Paintball Island. Horror movie of course. He was inquisitive as well. We talked about the Hockey HOF for the next summer but it never happened. I don’t remember why, but I wished it had now…..

I met Ryan Freshman year at Stockton. We both lived in O dorm on the first floor down the hall from each other. Ryan saw that I carried hockey sticks in my car and asked me to take wrist and slap shots at him while he crouched down in his catcher’s pose at his end of the hallway. I learned very quickly how genuinely humorous and caring Ryan was as he welcomed me into his home as a part of his family shortly thereafter. Ryan was the ultimate beer pong partner, how dialed in he was on that last cup, he would rarely miss?! Rest easy Ryan❤️

Ryan became my boss 5 years ago. He was so generous with his gifts and talents. He poured into his team and encouraged us to succeed. He worked with such precision, grace and poise even in the face of adversity. If you got a chance to experience him, then you know that you were in the presence of someone special. I'm a better person/employee because of him and he will be deeply missed and never forget.

I've known Ryan and his family since he was a year old. They moved in down the street when I was 13 and I started playing street hockey with Harry and Dante. By the time Ryan was 3 or 4 he was out there with his little hockey stick that Harry cut down for him, he was a great defenseman and even played goalie. Harry would cover him with pads and a helmet and we would try to score, yea two big guys trying to score on a 4 year old,and it wasn't easy!! I spent the next 5-6 practically living with the McCleery's. I would often babysit and never once had to reprimand any one of the three. They were so close as brothers and I really just felt like one of them, their big brother. I only went home to sleep and go to school. I come straight over and we'd all play something. Ryan was a natural athlete and highly intelligent. He would learn any game we played, poker, war, and board game, etc. He knew the stats for every baseball and hockey player at the time. When we started playing whiffle ball in the triangle, Ryan was in love with the game. He was maybe 6 and he was able to compete with neighborhood kids twice his age. He always had a mitt and ball. Like his bothers, he was a model child. Polite, caring and fun loving. I am honored to have known him and had the privilege of being present to watch him grow up. Though life takes us all in different directions, I've always seen him and his wonderful family as my own. They were such a huge part of my life.
Ryan, I will never forget you. You are everything thing good in this world. I'm so happy you had a family of your own. I'm so happy that I know you and you will always live in my heart and my memories. I love you Ry Guy!

I am so very sorry to hear about the death of Ryan. His wife and adorable kids are in my prayers. I was Ryan’s journalism professor at Rowan University and advised him as a staff member of The Whit student newspaper. He was a smart and kind guy who loved sports. May his memory be a blessing.

There’s so many different stories that I could pick from, but unfortunately I don’t think many of mine are appropriate for recording. Way back when we were much younger I remember talking with him when I ran out of money on the other side of the country. Ryan hardly had a penny to his name, but he was adamant that he would send money to help if I asked. It was a nice feeling, knowing that Ryan was really there if I ever needed him. He was one of the most loyal friends I’ve ever had. I always felt like no matter how long you went between conversations, you knew he’d drop everything to help you out. My thoughts are with his family.

I was lucky enough to have Ryan as my boss. It was for only a short time, but I am so grateful to have had that time with him. Ryan was very approachable, supportive, innovative, and encouraging to all of us on the PCO team. He is sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Shawn and your children, as you go through this difficult time. You are a beautiful family, and the many wonderful memories of Ryan will always be with you, Avery, Adalynn, Maddux, and family.

I only knew Ryan for a short time when Noblis, Inc. acquired McKean Defense. Ryan made an immediate positive impression to all who met him with his strong work ethic, his commitment to collaboration, and his expertise. I really enjoyed spending time with him when he came to the Reston area, and when I visited Philly. A consummate professional, Ryan was also a friend to all. I will truly miss him as will many others at Noblis and Noblis MSD who have come to know him. Shawne, please accept my heartfelt condolences. May you and your children keep his memory alive inyour hearts and spirits. Jennifer Oliver
