Obituary of Beryl S. Kane

Beryl S. Kane, age 90 years, of Pitman, NJ died December 30. Survived by her husband of 71 years Clarence Kane, three sons, Clarence Jr., Craig (Boni), and Mike (Shannon Harbison), and by grandchildren Felicia Lahn (Justin), Spencer, Carson McGee (Carson), Alexa and Taryn and great grandson Kane Lahn. Beryl was predeceased by son Frank Kane. Beryl was born in Port Norris, NJ and attended Rider College. Beryl and Clarence moved to Pitman in 1952 where they raised their four sons. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Pitman. Beryl, always willing to give time to service helped to create the Christmas Party for Kids Who Need a Break and oversaw its implementation for 60 years. She was years chairperson of the Miss Pitman Pageant Committee and belonged to and had leadership roles with the Woman's Club of Pitman, Pitman Junior Woman's Club, and Franklinville VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She also managed to be a Cub Scout Den Mother, Little League team mother and active with the Pitman Garden Club. She was recognized for her service when appointed once Grand Marshall of the Pitman 4th of July Parade. Beryl played piano and accordion, was a talented seamstress and loved doing arts and crafts. Her sons all agree she was a good cook too. She will be missed. Friends may call on Monday January 9 from 10 to 11 AM in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Avenue, Pitman, NJ.
