Obituary of Frank Joseph Savine

Please share a memory of Frank to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Frank Joseph Savine (Savini) son of Carlo and Anna Savini, born November 11, 1928 in Philadelphia passed away peacefully on December 27, 2022. Frank is survived by his sister in-laws Rose Savini and Anna Savini. In addition to being predeceased by his parents, Carlo and Anna, Frank was predeceased by his siblings, Dominic Savini; Mary Eveanowsky; Carl Savini Jr.; Salvatore Savini; Lena Ray; Rosina Whitley and Nephew, Robert Ray. Frank is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and even more numerous great nieces and nephews. Frank enlisted in the army in 1946 at 17 years of age. He served a year and a half and then enlisted in the Air Force. He served in the 117th Bombardment Squadron until 1951. He was discharged from the Air Force with a rank of Sargent. Frank was employed by Boeing in Ridley Park, PA. In April of 2010 he celebrated 50 years of service to Boeing. He was proud of his work on the Chinook Helicopter, he worked on the Chinook through many of the updates of the craft. Anyone who knew Frank knows that he was a company man. He never liked to fly in anything that was not Boeing made and referred to those planes as Brand X. Had Frank not been forced into retirement in his 80's, he would no doubt still have been making the trek to work every day. When not working Frank loved to hunt. He was a Life Member of the NRA. His yearly trek to Pennsylvania for deer season was as much a Thanksgiving tradition to him as the turkey dinner. When not hunting he loved to watch the Phillies and explain the game to you, and also why Pete Rose should NEVER be allowed in the Hall of Fame. Frank was a history buff, he loved going to the library every week to pick up a different book. While employed by Boeing, Frank participated in the blood drives they held and continued donating blood as often as he could donate. He has commendations from the Red Cross thanking him for the more than 10 gallons of blood donated. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, January 4, from 9:30am-11:15am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral mass will be at 11:30am in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 161 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Interment will be at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
