Obituary of Gene Karl Grossmick

Please share a memory of Gene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Gene Karl Grossmick, age 66, passed away after a long illness on September 11, 2022. Born and raised in Camden, NJ, Gene graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1974. He raised his family in National Park for 18 years. The past few years he has called Pitman home. He was a loyal, hardworking employee for Stelwagon Roofing Materials in Camden, NJ for 40 years. He never missed a day of work. Gene was so strong; he could fix absolutely anything from cars to toys and everything in between. Gene enjoyed all sports, especially the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. He was happiest coaching his son's baseball team and loved watching his grandson Brayden play baseball. Gene was an avid fisherman, loved traveling, music (The Eagles) and old movies (especially Westerns) and TV shows. Gene's biggest accomplishment was being a father. His kids called their dad a superhero, and even as adults, still see him that way. He was always there for them through their ups and downs and taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer. Being a Pop Pop was his ultimate dream come true, his grandsons were the light of his life. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Margaret "Peggy" Grossmick (Sheehan), children Amanda Grossmick, Ashley Grossmick (fiancé TJ Monteith), Alyssa Grossmick, Brett (April) Grossmick, grandsons Brayden and Carter and his loyal dogs Marshall and Finnegan. Gene was predeceased by his parents Edward and Helen Grossmick. Friends may greet the family on Thursday after 12pm in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral Service will be at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions in honor of his beloved Brother in law Daniel Sheehan to the ARC of Gloucester County/Cooper House 1555 Gateway Blvd Woodbury, NJ 08096.
