Earl Young, age 100 years, died May 3 at Elmwood Hills, Gloucester Twp., NJ. Born in Pitman, he was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army and attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his service. He was employed by the Pitman Water and Sewer Department, and transferred to the Police Department, retiring in 1972. He was a member of Pitman Fire Patrol, VFW, and the American Legion Post #125 (Pennsauken, NJ). He loved to travel, garden, and spent many winters in Florida.
Predeceased by his wife Gertrude (nee Miller) and survived by his son Earl R. and Patricia Young.
