I was deeply saddened to learn of Kim’s passing. I am grateful that his brother, John, took the time to reach out to me. John and I had a meaningful conversation about Kim.
Kim and I were best friends when I lived in the Media area. We played sports together and were also prone to more creative-thinking projects. I looked to Kim for guidance when I had questions. Questions about cars, about girls and about how society worked in general. We laughed a lot and joked about everything but more than that we trusted each other.
Kim was central in organizing the Bachelor Party before my wedding. A party bus was rented and we headed down to the casinos in Atlantic City. Too much information to be mentioned here but you can imagine the fun that we had. Even my late father, Lee Layton, came along for the trip. My dad always admired Kim’s wit.
I relocated to Florida as an Air Force dentist in 1981. Kim and Marsha visited with me and my wife, Diane, during that time. We went sailing in Key Biscayne, explored the Florida Keys and spent a day in Key West. The image I have sent was taken in Key West. It’s Kim, myself and Diane. Kim is asking another Captain about the prevailing winds.
I remained in Florida for my career and sadly lost contact with Kim. I often thought of him, especially as we entered our 60’s, and should have reached out. It is my only regret.
I will always remember Kim as I knew him. Smart, witty, athletic and a fun guy to hang out with.
Rest easy, Kim. We will see each other again on the other side.
My sincere condolences to Kim's family.

So very sorry to hear of Kim's passing. Kim was my neighbor on Chryney rd. We had many great times together. I introduced Cathy & Kim at One of our parties. He had a great sense of humor. My sincere sympathy to Justin & Kim's family.
