Aunt Joanne made such a valuable impact on what the next generation might get to take for granted. As a little kid, I remember saying something along the lines of ‘but girls don’t play basketball’ and my mom was able to correct that for me, with Joanne as lead example. I miss her. A multitude of obstacles that were in play even before this pandemic made seeing each other limited already, but I miss her, and my child is missing knowing her. We thank her for making the immediate world a lot better.
