Grandmom, I will always remember you from when I was little and my mom & dad told me to look out the window of the plane and find you bouncing in the clouds. I'll remember "playing" chess and when I was older, actually playing Scrabble and Rummikub. When I get a song stuck in my head, it's usually one I learned from you. There are countless other little things that make me think of you every day. You are a joy and a light, and that part of you will live forever. I love you so, so much. I'm so proud to be your granddaughter and grateful to have spent 25 years with you.
Love, Cooper Jean

Mom, you taught me about love, strength and caring for as long as I can remember and until the day you left us, and always included the joy of fun in everything. You have been the greatest wife, mother and grandmother I can imagine and I miss you so much already. Thank you for loving me, you will always be my best mommy.

My most fond and lasting memory of Dot is from years ago when I stopped by her house to meet her son Greg for some reason that I no longer remember. Dot answered the door, chatted with us, and suggested that my little girl go into the back yard to collect a chicken egg to take home; she even pointed one out on a bed of straw not far away. The following morning my daughter ate her special egg for breakfast, and I've always thought back on that moment with a chuckle.
