Carol,
Tony taught me so much about approaching a challenge in life. He was a great leader and the embodiment of a gentleman. Through these traits he taught, as a role model, thousands of young men and women howto be better adults. I know I was one of them,
I know his influence made me a better educator and man.
Can’t wait to see August 14 and give you a hug.
God be with you and know that Tony has to be with God,
Kevin Fleming

Hey Mrs D, so sorry to learn of to learn of your husband’s passing. He was a great man and a great coach. Some of my fondest high school memories are playing football for him in our undefeated season. And your wonderful delicious spaghetti dinners at your home you held for the team.
He lived an exemplary life and will be sorely missed by so many.
God Bless

Great memories of him sitting quietly and every so often interjecting a comment or two amongst us ladies gabbing on the bleachers at baseball games.
The amazing tour of Citizen Bank park, that went well beyond the tour’s time limit but nobody cared because his love of the game came through to all on that tour.
The HS baseball games that he would sit on the bleachers with us before saying he better get home, watching even though his grandsons no longer played.
All of this was always with the twinkle in his eye for life, a twinkle that seems to grow beyond the universe at the sight of his wife, daughter and grandkids!
Heaven has definitely gained an angel!
Bless you Mr. D!

Mrs. DeLucas, Tammy, and Kim,
Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. Coach DeLucas didn’t only develop football players; he prioritized developing young men as good citizens. Like my teammates Nick and Tom, I fondly recall the Thursday night spaghetti dinners at your home. I was always honored and blessed when I was invited. Those meals always started with Coach leading a prayer. It was clear by his words and actions that he was not only a good man, but a good Christian man, father, husband, friend, and coach. That was reflected in the great family that he headed.
Coach was a great role model and had a very positive impact on my life. His belief in me led to many more years of playing football, and then later coaching youth football. More importantly, the self-confidence and work ethic that he played a big part in instilling in me made me a better person and carried into other parts of my life. Thank you, Coach!
Lots of good memories…
When I went for my driver’s test in Berlin, I went with Coach in the Driver’s Ed car. He gave me some pointers ahead of time and I’ll always remember that he was part of my big day. I also remember the white VW Beetle that he drove. He got in an accident in the summer and continued to drive it to weight training while it was still damaged. We ribbed him by calling him “A.J. DeLucas,” comparing him jokingly with race car driver A.J. Foyt!
I was in Coach’s homeroom my Junior year. If I got in after the bell, especially in-season, well, let’s just say – it wasn’t good for me! We were on split sessions, going to school early, then lunch, then practice. Long days. Occasionally, some of us would doze briefly during the chalkboard sessions. One day, this happened to me. We were going over blocking assignments and Coach, in his deep voice, shouted, “Tony Sulpizio, what’s your assignment on this?” That woke me up, I recognized the play on the board, and answered the question quickly and correctly. “Lucky this time,” he replied!
Coach DeLucas’ playbooks included a page of life advice. One tidbit I remember was, “Choose a date who would make a good mate!” He truly cared about his players.
I remember the day that Coach walked into the cafeteria while I was eating lunch to personally deliver my varsity jersey. It came with a strong handshake and words of encouragement.
I am blessed to have known Tony DeLucas as my coach, mentor, and friend. Please be consoled with the knowledge that he touched so many lives in so many positive ways. May he rest in the Peace of Christ. May God bless you all. You are in my prayers.

Some of the best memories of my life are from playing football for Coach DeLucas at WTHS from 1973 to 1975. Coach DeLucas was the kind of coach that no one wanted to let down or dissappoint. He was a great leader who had us thinking and working as a team with the common goal of winning football games but also learning valuable life lessons. Over the years my wife Lori and I have had the pleasure of seeing Coach and Mrs. D and they both were always genuinely interested in how we were doing and what was going on in our lives. Like Nick Arena mentioned, the pre-game spaghetti dinners were so special! Lori and offer our heart-felt condolences to Mrs. DeLucas and the entire family. Coach DeLucas definetly made a huge impact on my life!

Carol, Tammy & Kim, I'd like to express my heartfelt condolences to you at the loss of your husband and father. My brother John played football on the 1970 undefeated Minutemen, and I played football for "Mr. DeLucas" in 1975 and 1976. I can only repeat all the kind words spoken already of Mr. DeLucas but will add how honored I feel to have been coached by such a legend of a man. I have so many great memories of Mr. DeLucas at WTHS on and off the field, but as one of his players my fondest memory was coming over on Thursday nights during football season to the house in Pitman to have a spaghetti and meatball dinner preparred by Carol and Tony, with Tammy and Kim helping to serve a hungry group of senior football players. What a meal and what a memory, to think what a sacrifice it took to feed a football team every week over the years, you could tell how proud Tony was of his team that he wanted to share that family moment with his own family. I am sure I speak for all who sat at your table when I say "thank you" in reflecting on that moment. May the celebration of Tony's life provide comfort over these difficult times. He truly was an inspirational leader, and served his passionate interests with the kindest of hearts. God bless you and your families, and God Bless Mr. DeLucas, may he rest in peace!
Sincerely, Nick Arena

Tony always had a smile on his face anytime you saw him. He was always interested in how you were doing. My children loved going to see Uncle Tony at the pool while they were growing up. He held a special place in their hearts. Tony never made you feel like an “in-law” but always his sister. The most loving thing I know about Tony is that he welcomed my mom in his home and was wonderful to her. I remember them loving to eat their bowl of ice cream together ! I know they are enjoying a bowl right now together in heaven.❤️ Love you Tony and our world will not be the same without you.
