Mr. and Mrs. H helped my dad through a lot. They treated him like a son and we even lived with them for a while. I’ll never forget when he would wake me up early and ask me if I wanted to go to Angelo’s Diner with him every morning and he would order me a big plate of pancakes and a bunch of chocolate milk. Whenever I was with him in public there was always at least one person that he knew there. He used to take me to the football games at Glassboro High School all the time too. He had the best sense of humor. He was truly an amazing man.

Mr. Herrschaft was my neighbor when I was growing up. We lived across the street from each other!
You will be deeply missed!!! You were such a great guy!! You and your wife always treated me like one of the grandkids growing up and always made me feel welcomed in your home and part of the family, when I was a kid!! I loved coming over for dinner and hanging out watching tv and or playing in the backyard!!!
You will be greatly missed!! May you Rest In Peace!!!!!

I was so very fortunate to have Mr .Herrschaft as my math teacher in junior high n also in HS at PHS n I loved him ! He has always been my favorite teacher so caring and thoughtful. I was also lucky enough to live around the block from him in Glassboro and was always happy when I got a visit from him when he was running errands for his wife.
I had a difficult time with math in school yet he would allow me to stay after school for help and also credit with his bulletin boards He was a wonderful man n will be missed

Joe was my football coach in my freshman year at Clayton High School. In later years, after I moved to Glassboro, I would bump into him and never fail to remind him of it. It always brought a bittersweet smile to his face. CHS was just awful in football in those years.
I became active in Glassboro Little League as a coach and League President and Joe became my mentor of sorts, always stopping by with good advice and a few good memories. He certainly enjoyed being around the kids. I will miss him.

I have known the Herrschaft family my whole life and will miss Mr. Herrschaft immensely. I have so many fond memories of spending time with him, Pat (his wife), Jim and and Joey (his sons and my best friends), and much of his extended family. His ties to the communities of Glassboro and Paulsboro through his coaching and teaching efforts were appreciated and celebrated by the numerous people who knew him. He could always bring out a smile and the best in people, and myself, with his infectious kidding and when serious could always motivate and inspire people to do better. He will also be terribly missed by his kind caring family who are as kind, warm, and caring as Mr. H.. And I grieve with them and thank them from the bottom of my heart for being the kind people they are.

I worked with Mr. Herrschaft at Paulsboro High School. He was such a kind and gentle person. He would give you a smile, open the door for you and tell you a joke or two. He was very supportive of the work that I do and even volunteered to be a Mentor in the Big Brother - Big Sister Program. Mr. Herrschaft encouraged me to continue doing the job that I do and to always remember that I was now a member of the Paulsboro Family. He would pop his head in my office when he made his visit to Paulsboro and say "you still here?" in his joking way. My Prayers goes out to the Family. Mrs. L. Jean Brown, S.A.C., Paulsboro High School

He was an amazing, funny, multi-talented, compassionate all around GREAT GUY who I was honored to have as a teacher, mentor and co-worker but most importantly, a friend! He always had a smile on his face and a little joke to put a smile on others faces. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
