Goodbye, old chum. I remember you as being a light-hearted and most pleasant fellow at Drexel University (Institute of Technology when we both began attending). You were one of the sharper fellows in the various chemistry classes. It's hard, seeing all those you knew disappearing... Thank goodness for the resurrection (Acts 24:15).

It pains me to write about a person who was a friend. Caesar was a very special person, who was a member of our extended Schering-Plough family. I have known him for over twenty five years, both as a co-worker and friend. He was a gentle soul, soft spoken, with an infectious laugh. Although I never worked directly with him, he had the reputation of being an excellent chemist, as well as the type of group leader that you would be happy to work with. He was my Hawaiian mentor, insofar as he provided me with a wealth of information about the islands before our first trip there in 1995. He was also the type of person who ‘had your back’ in many situations. He will be sorely missed by the Schering family, along with the many who were fortunate to know him.
