John’s family: I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through a similar situation and I was very helped by the hope that I found in the Bible in John 5:28, which says, "Do not amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I am sending you a link with more information on this hope.

My sincere condolences to your family. May you find comfort in the promise of Revelation 21:4 of a time when death will be no more and loved ones will be reunited.

I was a classmate of John “Pete” Parks at Athens High School, the class of 1962. Pete and I were the same age.
I was saddened to hear of Pete's death yesterday via email from two other high school classmates, Kate Robbins Jones and Jack Childs. Having not seen Pete in many years, I was pleased to read in his obituary that he was a very successful person and a family man. He certainly was a friendly fellow and fun to be with in high school.
My heart goes out to his family and friends during this very sad time.
Sincerely,
John

Diana I will never forget the way you and Pete reach out with Christ's heart and invited Dave, me and the boys into your home until we could get on our feet. It has left me with a heart to pay it forward and my house became a place of refuge to all that needed it. Know he is with God, walking and leaping and praising His name! Your hope through this sorrow is that you will be re-united when it is your time to come home! Love you!

I am sorry for your loss. Mr. Parks was such a nice man. I had the pleasure of knowing him when my daughter was in middle school. He was one of her child study team members.
