Pete was a teacher;s teacher. He was brilliant and exceptionally gifted in the art of making the complex understandable. Most importantly, he always invested his efforts in helping students. Pete was a great colleague who always embraced the highest goals of education. He changed the lives of all he touched, students, family, associates and friends. Kathy and family, your loss is shared by many, many others.

Fond Memories of Pete
Our association with Pete goes back 12 years when we visited the Camelot sales office. A smiling Pete Mitchell greeted us at the door and welcomed us to the Village Grande. We thought he was a sales person, but we learned that he was just an upbeat personality acting as a Goodwill Ambassador, who in the company of Kathy, enjoyed meeting people, escorting them on personal tours of the new community, while regaling them with the many attractions in Camelot. On our tour, they recommended a choice lot with a great view of a water basin, and more important, surrounded by neighbors who became good friends.
Pete was the unspoken leader of our group of friends, suggesting trips, dinner parties, holiday gatherings, and fine restaurants. These gatherings always included lively conversations usually initiated by Pete who was a master in getting others to talk about their interests and experiences. Pete was also an academic with deep interests in many topics, such as micro-biology, genetics, and American history.
As a professor of micro-biology at Gloucester County Community College, Pete was passionate in his teachings and many students stayed in touch with him long after his retirement. Pete even wrote his own manual on micro-biology and distributed them to his students free of charge to save them book fees.
Once, after very long phone and interesting phone conversations, Pete referred to me as his "kindred" spirit. That was a very gracious compliment. To me it meant that Pete and I shared the same convictions, life's principles, and values.
Pete, Thank You for your cherished friendship and memories !!

To the family of Peter Mitchell
Please accept my sincere condolences. I have taken comfort knowing that God . . . will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain.”—Revelation 21:3, 4
The Bible, however, holds out a much different hope. As we have previously noted, the Scriptures indicate that it is possible to be reunited with your dead loved one in the near future, not in an unknown heaven but right here on earth under peaceful, righteous conditions. And at that time humans will have the prospect of enjoying perfect health, and they will never have to die again. ‘But surely that is wishful thinking!’ for some may say. For words of encouragement please go to JW.org
Sincerely,
Roberta

Dearest Kathy, Mark, Heidi, Danielle, Olivia, and Eric,
We cannot express how very sorry we are about Pete's passing...how we loved being together, enjoying his wit, jokes, laugh, smile, and affable personality! Playing Sequence was always a highlight, as well as sharing our lives through both the great times and not so great times...
We love you and are praying for you and are so sorry that we are in Arizona right now with my sister. We will be over after we return April 2nd...
