Uncle Hal was so joyful and loving. He accepted each of us exactly as we are--welcoming new family and loving all of us with all of our quirks. My mom always spoke highly of spending weekly lunches with him and the rest of their lunch crew. He was a wonderful person to have in the world.
I'll always remember my surprise when he met one of my uncles on my maternal side. I didn't think they knew each other, but it turns out they were work buddies decades before and a grand time catching up.
Love you, Uncle Hal! My condolences to all of your family and friends, but especially to Nancy, Harry, Solveig, and John.
