James A. Crompton, age 84, died on May 2, 2018. James lived in Pitman for 59 years. He served in the US Marines from 1951-1954 during the Korean War. James worked for Bell Atlantic over 40 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the VFW. James was an avid boater and fisherman, he loved war history and collecting coins.
Survived by his wife of 59 years Evelyn (nee Merrick), sons James B., John (Diana), Thomas, granddaughters Cassandra and Caitlyn and brother Kenneth (Adele).
Friends may greet the family on Thursday after 9:30am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral service will be at 11am. Interment Gloucester County Veteran's Cemetery.
