The Kellys were the wonderful next-door neighbors of the Turners for almost 15 years on the 5300 block of Camac Street of the Logan neighborhood in Noth Philadelphia in the 60’s and 70’s. We spent hundreds of hours in each others houses and on our stoops and porches of this teeming, close-knit parish.
Maureen was the matriarch, and a generous, loving mother, and friend. Always with a smile and willing to share, when my Mom went back to work, she became almost a second mother to me (and was always so for much of the neighborhood). On a couple occassions she even came to Holy Child grade school to bring me things i had forgotten or needed. Once, when i wet my pants in 2nd or 3rd grade, she came to school with a fresh change of clothes for me and helped me get changed. She was a terrific lady, and a model caring, Catholic neighbor.
Rest in Peace.

John and family,
I was so saddened to hear of Maureen's passing, she was such an influence on me for years when she was a Lector for our church, I would always be thrilled when it was her doing a reading. She was such a beautiful Lector, and I could listen to her all day if it would have been possible. Because of Maureen, I became a Lector when one of our Deacons suggested it to me and until this day, when I bow before the alter...Maureen is always in my heart and thoughts. I am so sorry John, I know it was a long and hard journey for Maureen and you. I was so blessed to be able to come one day with Pat Schoenberg when she came to give Maureen Communion, it was so wonderful to see you both that day. My life was so blessed for knowing her and you. May God bless you John and your family during this difficult time.
Love and prayers,
