Dear Jessica, Gayle and I were sorry to hear of the loss of your Grandmother, Marian “Babs” Campsen, on February 22. From what we read on Facebook, you have many fine memories of time with your Grandmother, and I encourage you to treasure those memories as you attend her visitation tonight and the funeral tomorrow. Psalm 23 has been a favorite to comfort people throughout the ages. It talks about walking through the valley of the shadow of death: Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. My prayer is that the Good Shepherd will walk with you through the valley, and that you might also sense him leading you throughout the days that follow the funeral. Dear Campsen family, My life has been enriched by the friendship of Babs. I loved her like a sister. We had so many good times together for the past 62 years and shared so many sorrows too. I will never forget her, all she did for me and so many. I cherish all this and hold it all in my heart, ever so grateful.

Babs will be so missed in the neighborhood, she was the most caring and compassionate person we knew, it will not be the same without her.
