In the 90s, the man everybody called "Rockey" had an important influence on boys from age 9 til 13 as coach of the Fairmount Sports traveling team. He taught them more than just baseball, also hard work, commitment, competition, teamwork and fair play. Many have Coach Rockey to thank for using those ideas and skills to succeed as they grew up. I posted a photo of the first year we joined the team, our son Mike Swift is front row center. In those years the traveling team felt like a family. We remember John and Keith helping their dad with the kids. We can still hear Rockey's gravelly voice barking orders and reminders during practices and games, tough but always kind. And his rich, infectious laugh. We send our deepest condolences to all the family at your great loss. May his memory be a blessing. Frank and Sally Swift
