Obituary of Meron Joseph Costroff

Meron Joseph Costroff, age 87 years, died July 7, 2013, in Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Washington Twp., NJ. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and has lived in Hurffville for 57 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star, as a member of the 101st Airborne Division. He was employed by Camden Cold Storage for 35 years. He was a member of Mother of Mercy Parish, Our Lady Queen of Peace Church and the Southeastern PA VFW Post 101st Airborne Division. He loved animals and feeding the ducks at Atkinson Park every day. Meron was a jokester and loved going to the horse races, crabbing, and fishing. Pre-deceased by his wife of 62 years Rose M. (nee Burdey). Survived by his daughters, Linda (Ralph) Virgilio, and Cindy (Edward) Jones, granddaughters Natalie and Michelle Jones, and Stacie Carraffa, and great grandchildren Giovana and Christian. Also survived by his sisters Josephine Pisano and Irene Stefanski, and his close friend Carol Neely. Friends may call at the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Avenue, Pitman, NJ, on Friday from 7 to 9PM, and Saturday from 9 to 10AM.
