Rosanna (Rosanne) Liscovitz, age 90, of Pitman, NJ, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016, at the Pitman Manor, surrounded by the love of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends. A funeral Mass will be held in her honor at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 161 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ at11 am on July 30th. After the Mass, Rosanne will be interred beside her husband, Michael, at the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Rosanne was born in the Bronx, NY on September 16, 1925 to Joseph and Rosanna Madden. She was the valedictorian of her high school graduating class and went on to receive her Registered Nursing degree from Saint John's School of Nursing in Long Island City, NY. On July 2, 1949, she married her beloved husband Michael (Mickey) Liscovitz at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Flushing, NY. Together, they moved from Flushing, to Needham, MA, before settling in Middlesex, NJ to raise a family of five children. In Middlesex, Rosanne split her time working as a registered nurse and being a dedicated homemaker for her busy family. Upon retiring in 1985, Rosanne and Mickey moved to the Cedar Glen Lakes community in Whiting, NJ. During retirement, Rosanne, endearingly known as "Nanny" to her family and friends, loved to visit her fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. On these visits, Rosanne enjoyed cooking for the families and she spent many hours engaged in arts and crafts projects with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also cheered on the grandchildren at countless sporting events. Each of her children's houses have quilts and blankets sewn or knitted by her steady, caring hands. Just before her passing, Rosanne was voted "Miss Sunshine" at the Pitman Manor, a testament to the warm and welcoming impact she had on the people she met during her life. A lifetime Roman Catholic, Rosanne will be most remembered for her love of her large, extended family. Rosanne was predeceased by her devoted husband of 63 years, Michael (Mickey), on February 1, 2013. She is survived by her children, Diane (John) Szymanski, Michael (Joanne) Liscovitz, Stephen (Carol) Liscovitz, Mary Jane (David) Kamerer and John (Patricia) Liscovitz. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ceil Koller.
