Obituary of Anthony John Capone

Anthony John Capone, age 80 died on February 17, 2016. Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Anthony lived in Pitman over 50 years. He graduated from South East Catholic High School in Philadelphia in 1954 and was a former member of St. Gabriel Parish. He served in the US Army from 1959 to 1964 in Korea. Anthony worked for over 30 years for Wilmad Glass Co. in Buena, retiring as Foreman. Anthony was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Pitman where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. For many years, Anthony and his wife fostered infants through Catholic Social Services.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Gertrude L. (nee Straus), children Mary Jo, Mary Ellen (Joe) Dragone, Maureen (Anthony) Meduri, Timothy, Colleen, Joseph (Allison), Katie, Kevin (Melissa) , grandchildren Anthony, Paul, Mary and Nick Meduri, Vincent and Angelina Dragone. Braedyn, Bryce, Lily, Clare, Regan and Connor Capone, brothers Robert (Frances), Charles (Jean) and Donald (Lisa) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Maria Greco.
Friends may greet the family on Sunday 5-8pm in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ and on Monday after 10am in Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish (Our Lady Queen of Peace Church), 161 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ followed by a funeral mass at 11am.
