What an incredible woman! There is no one like her. She was so caring and concerned for others. She always went above and beyond. With all she had going on with herself, she always turned the conversation back to others, more concerned with how everyone else was doing. She is a PEO sister of mine with Chapter AQ. She always made each and every one of us feel special. But she is the special one. I will miss her.

Our intro to Sea Isle City came via the fantastic shore parties Helen & Bob held each fall for all Bob's Du Pont associates. That has led to us spending summers for 35 years as neighbors of Helen & Bob. We first met Bruce when he was a teenager and have since spent time with Rob, Sheila, and George...what a nice family, we are happy to know all of them. We cherished our friendship with Helen...a great lady. Our summers will have a big hole in them now that Helen can't bring us up to date on the latest news about family, Sea Isle, and Du Pont! We will miss her greatly.

Sincere sympathies on the loss of your mother - I have fond memories of her & your father (who always played his classical music loud-like he was a teenager). My sister Gail & I used to babysit the 3 of you. I don't know if you remember us. Maiden name was "Hatch" & we lived down the street. Gail passed in 2010 & your mother called at that time to offer her condolences. I am certain that you 3 have grown into fine young men with your own famlies. Again, my sincerest sympathies for your loss. Your mom was a classy and warm person.

As I opened this morning's Press and found the article about Helen I was saddened by all of our loss. I first met Helen as a student from GSC (Rowan)when I was placed with Paula her co-worker. Helen was always willing to give a helping hand and became my first year mentor in 1981 at GHS where we became co-workers. She played a positive role in my life so much so that I am completing my 32nd year in education. Helen always made it look so easy but as a veteran teacher I now know that it was love and dedication that made it look easy. Thank you for sharing Helen with us. Please know her legacy lives on - making a difference in one student, one co-worker and one person's life by being touched by Helen.

Rob, George, and Bruce - indeed sorry to learn of the loss of your mom, and our friend from the day we moved into Lakeside. A lot of nice memories of her, Doc, and you guys. She was always interested in finding out what was going on with my family, and was very proud of you guys. And she dropped off those dang aluminum tabs for the Ronald McDonald House just recently. Please don't hesitate to contact me if there is any assistance you need during this difficult time. The Big BO.

My deepest sympathies on the passing of your mother. It was such a pleasure to meet her first as Mrs. Armstrong at all the Lakside and Sea Isle City house parties in high school but a greater pleasure to have the opportunity to know her as Helen when we were both special education teachers for the Glassboro School District.

My sincere sympathy to Helen's family. I taught with her at GHS. She was one of the kindest, helpful and funny people that I knew. I have many good memories of working with her. May all of your memories bring you comfort. May she rest in peace.

Dear Helen's Family
It was my privilege to know Helen as a long-time member of Chapter AJ (PEO)in Pitman and also at First Presbyterian Church in Pitman, where Helen and Bob attended in the past. I was so saddened to read of Helen's passing. In your beautifully written tribute, you gave a wonderful summary of her life. Be assured that she has touched so many lives in so many important and loving ways. I am only one among the many who will remember her with love and admiration. My prayers are with you all at this sad and difficult time. Sincerely, Barbara Griffith

Mrs. Armstrong, "Mimi" to my kids, was a wonderfully spirited lady who I know will truly be missed by many. She was a very dear friend to my mother, Joy Sumski, and I know her loss will be great but her memories will be greater. I always looked forward to seeing her when I came home and I know my mom will miss her tremendously.
